About NYSASIC

The New York State Association of Self-Insured Counties was formed in March 1977 to serve as a forum for all self-insured New York State Counties and other municipalities to exchange information and support the interest of municipal governments across the State. Although the group started with a focus on Workers’ Compensation, NYSASIC has grown to become one of the most useful resources for continuing education about risk management topics in New York.

NYSASIC holds two conferences a year; one in the spring and one in the fall.

Members of NYSASIC benefit from:

• A forum to exchange ideas to implement more economical and efficient operation of municipal self-insurance

• Educational knowledge in the application of risk management

• Early information about the most current legislation and laws that affect self-insured plans

• Assistance in solving municipal risk management problems

• A network of statewide professionals in the same realm willing to share their experiences and lessons learned

• A conglomerate of similarly interested individuals working toward fostering and improving the role and relationships of municipal self-insurance administrators and risk managers

• Reduced registration rates to attend the NYSASIC conferences
