General Business Meeting

Friday September 28, 2007

The NYSASIC general business meeting was called to order by President Amy Clute at 10:50 AM at the Radisson Corning, NY.

The minutes of the May 11, 2007 General Business Meeting were reviewed and approved on motion of Soni O’Bryan, seconded by Paul Casey, passed.

Colleen Capwell gave the Treasurer’s Report.  The association’s balance on September 25, 2007 was $35,731.74, which is higher than normal at the start of a conference.  The higher balance is due in part to collecting the fall 2007 sponsorship prior to the start of the fall conference.  Expenses for this conference will be paid out today and will leave the balance at approximately $20,000 to $21,000.  The Treasurer’s Report was approved on a motion by Bob Bilsky, seconded by Maureen Sullivan, passed.

The 2008 NYSASIC Spring Conference will be held May 7-9, 2008, at the Riveredge Resort in Alexandria Bay, NY.  The board will be meeting in January to discuss topics so let a board member know of any topic ideas you have.  On Wednesday evening there will be murder mystery dinner and the barbeque dinner will be held on Thursday evening.  Be sure to get your room reservation in early if you wish to stay on-site.

There was no old business to discuss.

Under new business the Board, at their meeting this morning, decided to pass the 2 resolutions, one on 207c and one on the workers’ compensation reform, mirroring the NYSAC resolutions.  Municipalities may want to take them to their local level for consideration.

The nominating committee for spring 2008 will be Darlene White, Bonnie Szpulecki, and Dixie Perkins.  There are four officer seats and 1 director seat up for nomination.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:15 AM on the motion of Deb Burnham seconded by Rachel Myers.

Respectfully Submitted,

Amy Poff

Secretary
