General Business Meeting

Friday May 11, 2007

The NYSASIC general business meeting was called to order by President Amy Clute at 11:05 AM at Riveredge Resort Alexandria Bay, NY.

The minutes of the September 29, 2006 General Business Meeting were reviewed and approved on motion of Deb Burnham, seconded by Soni O’Bryan, passed.

Colleen Capwell gave the Treasurer’s Report.  The association’s balance on September 26, 2006 was $19,356.63.  The total revenue collected between September 26, 2006 and May 9, 2007 is $21,993.21 which includes the annual membership.  Total expenses for that same period were $9,226.50.  As of May 9, 2007 our total balance of checking and savings is $32,123.34.  Today any remaining expenses for the Spring 2007 conference will be paid which includes the hotel costs, including those attending on a scholarship, and the fee for the continuing education program.  Copies of the full Treasurer’s Report are available.  The Treasurer’s Report was approved on a motion by Paul Casey, seconded by Cindy Cocca, passed.

The 2007 NYSASIC Fall Conference will be held September 26-28, at the Radisson in Corning, NY.  The board will be meeting in June to discuss topics so let a board member know of any topic ideas you have.  We also hope to include a tour of the Corning Glass Museum.

Under old business Amy Clute asked those present their thoughts about being able to get continuing education credits at this conference.  David Rubenzahl from the Maxon Company said it was great and he took advantage of it.  Amy said approximately 10-15 conference attendees signed up for the continuing education credits.  We will keep everyone update on the success of this program.

For new business Susan Lent said Robert Snashall addressed most of the questions on the workers’ compensation reform, and she will keep us update of any new developments.

The term for the three directors positions held by Lisa Watts, Susan Lent, and Cindy Cocca are up, and the nominating committee of Darlene White, Bob Bilsky, and Gail Hughey nominate Lisa Watts, Susan Lent, and Cindy Cocca to fill those terms.  President Amy Clute asked for any nominations from the floor, but there were no addition names provided.  Secretary Amy Poff will cast a ballet for Lisa Watts, Susan Lent, and Cindy Cocca for the three vacant positions.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:15 AM on the motion of Soni O’Bryan seconded by Darlene White.

Respectfully Submitted,

Amy Poff
